Hoshizaki ice machine production is dependent on the surrounding operating conditions. Simply put, it takes time to freeze water. The warmer the incoming water and surrounding air, the longer it takes to freeze the water.
Longer freeze times result in fewer freeze cycles within 24 hours – and that means less ice for you and your customers. Colder weather can also cause some common ice maker problems as well.
What Conditions Effect Hoshizaki Ice Machine Production?
Hoshizaki ice machine production requires proper operating conditions to achieve the maximum output of ice. There’s no guarantee a KM-600MAH will produce its maximum of 592 lbs in 24 hours unless the water is 50 degrees, and the air temperature is 70 degrees (the optimal temperatures for any ice machine).
Below are the Hoshizaki ice machine production statistics for each of the Hoshizaki ice maker models we offer including our crescent, cubelet, and square ice machines. This includes all our Hoshizaki air cooled ice machines as well as our Hoshizaki water cooled and Hoshizaki remote cooled ice machines.

We show two production capacities for each machine: Max and AHRI. Max production in 24 hours is based water that is 50 degrees and surrounding air at 70 degrees. AHRI production is based on a standard that approximates typical operation conditions most workplaces can maintain, with water at 70 degrees and air at 90 degrees.
